Step-by-Step Lauki Halwa or Dudhi Halwa Recipe :
Step 1 : Wash the lauki or dudhi properly. Peel it. Grate it and keep it aside.
Step 2 : Heat one heavy bottom based non stick pan. Add grated lauki. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 4 – 5minutes.
Step 3 : Meanwhile keep milk to boil on medium flame.
Step 4 : After 4 – 5 minutes you can see lauki has released water.
Step 5 : Now add boiling milk. Mix well. Cook it on medium flame. Keep stirring in between.
Step 6 : Cook till 75% of liquid will get reduced. Add sugar and nuts, mix well. Cook till all liquid get almost absorbed.
Step 7 : Finally add ghee into cooked lauki halwa.
Step 8 : Cook the lauki halwa for a few minutes. Keep on stirring the lauki halwa.
Step 9 : When you feel lauki halwa is in proper consistency, switch off the flame.
Step 10 : Garnish lauki halwa with chopped nuts.
Step 11 : Serve lauki halwa hot or you can also serve the lauki halwa cold.
