Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 2 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp oil
- Salt according to taste ( approx. 1 tsp )
- 1 ½ - 2 cup water or according to need
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
- Wash the rice and soak for 30 min.
- Drain the water and keep aside.
- Boil the water in a pot.
- When water starts to boil, add soaked rice, salt and ghee / oil.
- Cover the lid and cook on slow flame. Stir in between.
- Another way, combine all in a pressure cooker and pressure cook for 2 – 3 whistles.
- If you pressure cook the rice then use only 1 ½ cup of water, otherwise rice will get sticky.
- Serve hot with rajma, dal fry or pulses of your choice.
Notes
You can add few drops of lemon juice for white rice.
